Compound inequalities and the effect that dividing by a negative has on an inequility.

 

I have to write out my problem using words that describe how I solved this problem and then graph it.  

 

0≤4+2x≤22

 

3x+6<-3 or 5 -x≤1

Sherri, take the inequalities apart and solve them just like a regular equation.  The only difference is that when you divide by a negative number, the sign switches.

 

Take the last inequality.

5 - x < 1

    -x < -4

      x > 4

 

The sign would stay the same in the rest.  Hope this helps!
