Why does it seem only Democrats give public updates in response to States of emergency?

I don't know whether your question is serious or a rhetorical slap at Republicans, If the former, Ohio's Republican Governor Mike Dewine delivered numerous public updates about the COVID 19 pandemic. DeWine's updates were mostly truthful and science-based. Likewise, Maryland's Republican Governor Larry Hogan also delivered numerous public updates about the pandemic that were mostly truthful and science-based.

If you were making a rhetorical slap at the Republicans, who can say why they reject science and persist in magical thinking? The Republican Party's historical antecedent was a party\society called the "Know Nothings," so perhaps your answer lies there. :)
