asked • 05/18/20Ive been on mmt (methadone maintenance treatment) for over 12 years. I've been offered a FREE enrollment in a pharmacy tech school through my employer (chain drugstore). Before I go through the hoops required, what are the regulations concerning this issue?
While I’m far removed from the law side of pharmacy, you shouldn’t be discriminated against due to being enrolled in the MMT program. Nearly every job working in a pharmacy would require a drug screen upon hiring you as well as random drug tests. Since it would show up positive, you will need to have documentation of active participation in the program readily available.

I suggest asking the question of the agency from which you will need to get a license. If you do not know the agency, I suggest asking the school or a pharmacist. OR have a friend query your employer as to the requirements they require before considering a pharmacy tech candidate. Personnel may be the easiest place to get the info you want.05/26/20
