There are a few basic kinematic equations that help with motion in one direction. The one that you need to solve this problem is
v = vi + a * t
In other words, the velocity at a given time can be found be multiplying the acceleration times the number of seconds that have elapsed, then adding the initial velocity.
The initial velocity in this case is 0 since it's dropped from rest. The elapsed time is 1 second and the acceleration is 10, so the equation becomes
v = 0 + 10*1
v = 10 m/s
