Recall the definition of the slope of a function (y2-y1)/(x2-x1). This formula differs only in its representation, instead of 1 and 2, we have g and h, and instead of y as the dependent function, we have f(), x however is still the independent variable. The result should look like (F(h)-F(g))/(h-g).
