In this case we are told that initially a = 2 so F/m = 2

Now, lets look at the second conditions were we have 3F and 4m so:

(3F)/(4m) = a [rearranging this we get:

3/4•(F/m) = a

But from the initial situation, F/m = 2, so we can substitute "2" in place of "F/m" and get:

3/4•(2) = a

6/4 = a
