The conversion between Celsius and F is: (9/5) * degrees in Celsius + 32 = degrees in F
As a mental check, 32 degrees F clearly gives 0 degrees C.
Assume we changed from x degrees C to x+6 degrees C. That would correspond to a (9/5)x + 32 F to (9/5)*(x+6) +32 F change. Clearly, the 32 F cancels and (9/5)*x cancels yields a change in F of (9/5) * 6 = 54/5 = 10.8 degree change in F.
