(Physics) Projectile Motion

Two WWII bombers are flying at the same speed with one directly below the other by about 1 plane length. Ignore air resistance and drag. If the higher bomber releases its bombs, will they strike the other bomber?

Look at it this way: The 2 bombers and the dropped bombs all have the same horizontal velocity at all times. The only difference is that the dropped bombs also have a downward vertical velocity, so at some point in time, the dropped bombs and the lower bomber will arrive at the same place at the same time.
