If there are 50 sets, and each set has 7 kids, then there are 50x7=350 kids total

 

2:5 means for every 2 boys there are 5 girls, so for every 7 kids, there are 2 boys and 5 girls.

350 has how many sets of 7?  350/7=50

 

if there are 50 sets and each set has 5 girls, then there are 50x5 number of girls.
