If the rays were parallel, the reflected rays would also be parallel, and not convergent.
If the rays were diverging, the reflected rays would also diverge, and not converge.
If the rays were originally converging , the reflected rays would also be diverging.
Please note that this is for the specific case of a plane mirror.
