Can you tell me if I did this right?

Question

A child is riding a carousel at an amusement park. How long will it take for the child to travel through the given angle at the given angular velocity? 

1.) 3 rev/min; 270 degrees

 

ok, this is what I did:

(270/360)(2pi/1rev)(3rev/1min)(1min/60sec) = (3pi/40) radians/sec

Not quite!  1 rev = 360°, so 3 rev/min x 360°/rev = 1080°/min

 

Now you can divide 270º by this amount to get:

 

270º/(1080°/min) = 1/4 min = 15 sec.
