On a lightweight 3x rod at x distance from both ends, two weights of mass m and 2m are fixed, and the rod itself is horizontally suspended with the threads tied at its ends. 1) Find the tension forces of both threads. 2) The right thread is cut. What is the tension force of the left thread immediately afterwards (before the rod has started to move)?

Answers: 1) 5/3mg; 4/3mg 2) 2/9mg
