First find the resultant of the magnetic field, B_net = √(B_x² + B_y²) = √((1.5x10^-6)² + (5.5x10^-6)²) = 5.7x10^-6 T

Where B_x and B_y are the horizontal and vertical components of the Earth's magnetic field respectively.

The induced emf between the wing tips is

ε = vlB_net =( 780/3600 ms^-1)(39.9m)(5.7x10^-6 T) ≈ 49x10^-6 V

We need to convert the speed from km/h to m/s.
