The PV  diagram in the figure shows two possible states of a system containing 1.75 MOLES of a monatomic ideal gas. P1 = P2. 425 = N/m^2 , V1 = 2.00 m^3 , V2 = 8.00 m^3 .

Find the work done by the gas.

Using PV = nRΔT, work out the temperatures at the two states.

Since absolute temperature is the average kinetic energy, the difference will be proportional to the work done.
