A piecewise function means there are actually multiple equations depending on what x equals.
In this case, there are 3 equations (because there are 3 pieces in the graph)
When x is less than or equal to -1, the y-value is always at 4. So the equation is f(x)=4
When x is greater than -1 and less than or equal to 2, the graph has a slope of -1 and a y-intercept of 4. We can write that equation as f(x) = -x + 4.
when x is greater than 2, the line stays at 1, so the equation is f(x) = 1
