If memory has been damaged by illness, trauma or injury it is possible. I often tell my students that intelligence is not what you can retain in your brain but rather knowing the resources where to find the information is important. There are times when I forget information but all I have to do is go to the right resource and I am able to remind my memory of the data that was previously missing.
