How to copy the styles completely from one MS Word Document to another document?!

Question

I actually want to copy the styles completely, let’s say I have some headings (heading 1, 2, 3,…etc) and paragraphs under each heading, let’s say that the paragraph under heading 1 is formatted to bold, the one under heading 2 is formatted to italic,…etc.

So I want to copy the whole style to another document so that when I open that document I would see the paragraph under heading 1 is bold, the paragraph under heading 2 is italic,..etc

is the “organizer” option in word styles has anything to do with this issue?!

I believe when you go to paste the content onto the other word document you would just need to make sure you select the paste icon with the paintbrush that says "keep source formatting". This should maintain the same style onto the other word document.

You could also save a copy of your initial document as a template - either an actual Word template or just a doc that you will copy and reference in the future.

Once in the copy of the file, delete all the content, and save it again. Now you have a blank document with all the same styles to use for future documents.

In Word 2007 there was a way to make the current styles your new default, but I'm not seeing that for newer versions.
