Since you know the applied force and its duration, you can work this as an impulse problem. Using the approximation that the mass is constant,
F = applied force (given)
t = duration of applied force (given)
m = mass (assumed constant, given)
Δv = change in speed = ?
Impulse:
Ft = mΔv ⇒
Δv = Ft/m
Plug in the numbers and get Δv in m/s.
