write Y= -2X + 9 using the standard form of the equation of a line.

Actually y=mx+b is point slope form.  Leah asked for standard form which is

 

Ax + By = C

 

Therefore the answer to this one will be 2x + y = 9

The general equation of a line is y = mx + b, where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept. As a result, you always want to solve a given equation of a line for the variable y. In your case, you already have this! Y = -2x + 9 IS written in the standard form.
