A summer camp has 320 ft of float line with which to rope off three adjacent rectangular areas of a lake for swimming lessons, one for each of three levels of swimming ability. A beach forms one side of the swimming areas. Suppose that the width of each area is x feet. Answer parts a) through c).

Answer 1

for Length L, assuming the beach is parallel to the length L,

L + x+L+x+L = 320 as the length of adjacent rectangular pools are shared.

2x + 3L = 320.

We now need the info in parts a through c to get the given info needed to solve it

like the area, or something else about the length.
