If the number has to be odd, the third digit has to be 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9. If the number has to be between 200 and 500, the number cannot end in 1 (the only possibility for this would be 101, 1 + 0 = 1, which is less than 200). There is more than one solution to this riddle. Think of the third digit possibilities, for example:
If the third digit is 3, what two numbers add up to 3? Then decide if this three-digit number is between 200 and 500.
1 + 2 = 3 (however, 123 is less than 200, so this is not an acceptable answer)
2 + 1 = 3 (213 is an acceptable answer)
3 + 0 = 3 (303 is an acceptable answer)
Repeat these steps for the numbers ending in 5, 7 and 9 to get all possible answers.
