First, multiply each side by (cx + d)..

y(cx + d)=ax + b

ycx + yd = ax + b

Get (ax) alone..

ycx + yd - b = ax

Bring the X's on the same side..

yd - b = ax - ycx

Right side of equation, what they got in common?..

yd - b = x(a - yc)

Get x alone...

(yd - b) / (a - yc) = x
