y=-4x-5 and -y=5x+5
Manipulate the second equation so it is y= and not -y= bu dividing both sides by -1
-y/-1=5x/-1+5/-1
y=-5x-5
Now by substitution, you can set the equations equal to each other an solve.
-4x-5=-5x-5 add 5x to both sides
-4x-5+5x=-5x-5+5x Simplify
x-5=-5 Add 5 to both sides
x-5+5=-5+5 Simplify
x=0
Now plug this into either equation to solve for y
y=-4(0)-5
y=-5
The intersection point is (0,-5)
