Let l represent the length of the rectangular garden (in meters). (Notice that the 90 meters of fencing is needed for only 3 sides of the garden.)
Suppose the length of the garden is 5 meters (l=5).
how do i write this in terms of l?

P=2l+2w, but one length is missing
P=l+2w
90=l+2w
90-l=2w
w=(90-l)/2
A=l*w
A=l*((90-l)/2) or...
A=(90l-l^2)/2
