Perimeter of a rectangular field is given by 2L+2W. Since the length is 14 more than the width, l=w+14. Putting that in, we get 2(w+14)+2w=96 (since 96 meters is our total perimeter). Simplified, we'll get 2w+28+2w=96. Combining the like terms, we get 4w+28=96, 4w=68 or w=17. Since w=w, we already have the width which is 17m. Since the length is 14 more than that, our length is then 17+14 or 31m.
