d = r * t
dtruck = (60)(t + 1/10) 6minutes = 1/10 of an hour
dcar = 67t
60t + 6 = 67t
Can you solve for t and answer?

asked 09/22/19A trucks enters a highway driving 60 mph a car enters the highway at the same place 6 minutes later and drives 67 mph in the same direction from the time the car enters the highway how long will it take the car to pass the truck? Round the answer to the nearest tenth) The car will pass the truck in how many minutes?

d = r * t
dtruck = (60)(t + 1/10) 6minutes = 1/10 of an hour
dcar = 67t
60t + 6 = 67t
Can you solve for t and answer?
60 miles/hour x 1 hour/60 minutes = 1 mile/minute
67 mph x 1 hour/60 mins = 67/60 mpm
Let t = the time in minutes of the truck.
The distances will be equal when they meet, but the truck will have travelled 6 minutes longer.
67t/60 = 1(t + 6)
67t/60 = t + 6
67t/60 = 60t/60 + 6
7t/60 = 6
t = 360/7 = 51.4 minutes
