Find the length of the arc of a circle of diameter 6 meters subtended by a central angle of pi/4 radians

The length of an arc is a fraction of the circumference. The fraction to use is measure of arc/2π or measure of arc/360.

Circumference =π * d

When given arc length in radians use the following formula

arclength = (measure of arc in radians/2π)times Circumference

=( (π/4)/2π ) * π (6)

=(1/8) * π (6)

=2.35 meters

Circumference (C) = pi * d (d = diameter)

The segment size is the ratio of the given angle to 2*pi (which is one complete revolution. Thus the given angle of pi/4 is 1/8 of the circle

So the arc length is (pi*d) / 8
