is x=y a function? and if it is or if it isn't, why?

Question

i am confused to as if x=3 is a function or not because i don't know how you would determine if this is a fuction or not.

also i have another question, is x=3 a function and why?

Arbish, just do the vertical line test. If you run a vertical line - any vertical line - and cross the graph of the equation more than once, then it is NOT a function x=3 is a vertical line itself. So, with even drawing a vertical line you can see it is not a function.  hope this helps.
