quadratic equations

Select the approximate values of x that are solutions to f(x) = 0, where
f(x) = -7x2 + 7x + 6.

The four options are:

{–0.55, 1.55}

{-7, 7}

{–1.00, –0.86}

{–1.17, 1.17}

There are a lot of ways to solve this, but different ways require different knowledge. For example, have you learned the formula for the solution to quadratic equations?  Have you learned about the relationship between quadratic functions and parabolas on an x-y graph, and have you learned how to find the vertex of a parabola for a quadratic function?

yes, I tried using the quadratic formula to find the solution and came up with option 1. However, I am not sure if this is correct or not. I am not very good at math unfortunately.
