We can check this by plugging in the point you gave us.
When a point is represented as (-2,3) this means that the first number (-2) is x and the second (3) is y. We can then plug these into your equation to check if it is a solution.
3x + 4y = 8
3(-2) + 4(3) = 8
-6 + 12 = 8
6 = 8
Clearly 6 does not equal 8 so it is not a solution.
