One decibel is 20 times the log of the voltage ratio. Suppose 2 voltages are related by a factor of 10. The log of 10 is one, and so a factor of 10 is 20dB.

No....dB is 10 times the log of the power ratio, or 20 times the log of the voltage ratio. If the voltage ratio is 100, the log of that is 2, so it is 40dB08/20/19
