To solve this you use the wave equation
v=λf
where λ is the Wavelength, Frequency (f) and v is the speed of the wave.
In a standing wave, the distance between successive nodes is half the wavelength.
We can calculate the wavelength as:
λ=2×0.04 m=0.08 m
- Frequency (f): The speed of the wave (v) is given as 84 m/s. We can use the wave equation to find the frequency:
Rearranging to solve for f:
f=v/λ
Plugging in the values
f=84m/s/0.08m
= 1050 Hz
