Torque is Force times radial distance from some axis of rotation.Formally it is the vector cross product of the Radius and Force vectors Mathematically it is written r x F and this equals the product of the magnitude of the vectors times the sine of the angle between them. If the angle = 90 degrees then the sine = 1.If the angle = 0 deg, then the cross product [torque] = 0.
