That is true. CPU is the Central Processing Unit, or simply the Processor. Many computers today have dual-core, or quad-core technology. Dual-core simply means that there are 2 processors. Quad-core means there are 4 processors. There are still some computers that have just 1 processor. When there is just one processor, it is usually stronger than one of the processors in a multi-core system, but with the ability of more than one processor to multi-task, the multi-core systems generally run a little bit faster.
