One such program is NetWorx, which offers a free version with limited features. NetWorx allows you to monitor network usage, set data limits, and create alerts based on various criteria. It also includes a white or exclusion list feature to exclude specific processes or applications from monitoring.
Here's how you can use NetWorx to set up the desired alert:
1. Download and install NetWorx from the official website (https://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/) or a trusted software download platform.
2. Launch NetWorx and go to the "Usage Reports" tab.
3. Click on the "Settings" button in the toolbar.
4. In the "General" tab, you can configure the time period for data monitoring and reporting. Set the desired time frame for monitoring.
5. In the "Alerts" tab, enable the "Notify on" option and select "Data usage" from the drop-down menu.
6. Set the desired data amount and choose the appropriate unit (e.g., kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes).
7. In the "Processes" section, you can add processes to the white or exclusion list. Click on the "Configure" button next to the "Process count" option.
8. In the "Processes" window, click on the "+" button to add a process. Browse and select the specific process you want to monitor and set the action as "None" or "Exclude" based on your requirements.
9. Click "OK" to save the changes.
10. Optionally, you can configure additional settings such as alert sounds, email notifications, or running a program/script when an alert is triggered.
11. Click "OK" to apply the settings.
Now, NetWorx will monitor the network usage of the selected process during the specified time frame. If the process uploads the defined amount of data, an alert will be triggered according to your configured settings.
Note that while the free version of NetWorx offers basic features, there is also a paid version with more advanced functionality.
