Though we would need an extensive study to answer this thororughly, I can at least say that it would be dentrimental to the MANY ecosystems spiders live in. They act as a sort of pest control in many areas, and they also act as food for many animals. Without spiders, insect numbers will first rise, then decline as they consume their food and run out of resources. Most predators that eat spiders often have other sources of food, but removing spiders would deplete them of a food resource, which will impact the many animals that feed on them.
