asked 07/19/19Why won't my tool paint box work in adobe animate?
Okay so I just got adobe animate yesterday and before I was using the software krita. I was able to use the wand as a "paint bucket" in krita. The thing is, in adobe animate it doesn't work, it just has a circle with a slash through it. So when I use the paint bucket tool in adobe I click on the item I want to be all colored in, and it won't color unless rarely I press on the shape multiple times. I want to enjoy the struggle of the process, but it's just a little frustrating because it's a lot to learn, and I know with time and patience I'll be the best I can become. I just need a little guidance. Also I've only been doing this for a couple months, so that puts things in perspective :). Thank you for your time and your help

I tell stories through art and help others do the same!
Try going into the "properties" section when you have the paint bucket selected. There should be a series of circles with gaps in them. There you can select how tolerant you want your paint bucket to be of gaps in line work. You can select "close large gaps" for the paint bucket to ignore most gaps in your lines.
This was so frustrating for me before I figured it out, so I hope it helps!

Good morning! Your shape probably has a minuscule gap in it. That can be frustrating, especially because these gaps are usually so small that you can't even see them when zoomed in a couple of levels. You can go into the tools palette and set a gap size for the program to ignore, and with that, you should be able to fill in your shape. The easiest way to avoid this is to make sure you have no gaps in your artwork to start with, either by using one continuous line for a particular shape, or by making sure that multiple lines overlap one another in your shape. I hope this helps. Have a great weekend! -MF08/10/19
