How a story is written is known as the author's point of view. An author's point of view can be written in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person. A story written in 1st person will be an account of the author's own personal experiences and will be written using pronouns such as {I, me, my, and mine.} Many stories are often written in 3rd person with the 2 most common types of 3rd person being 3rd person omniscient and 3rd person limited. A story written in 3rd person omniscient is told by a narrator that knows everything about the characters in the story even what they are thinking and feeling during the events of the story. However, a story written from the 3rd person limited perspective will be told by a narrator {someone who is not an active character in the story} who talks about the characters but whose knowledge of what the character thinks and feels is limited.
