The best way to get better at programming is to do practice projects. Try to think of an idea and go build it! It's the best way to gain experience and learn deeper into a specific part of programming. It also depends on what you want to do in the future. If you want to be a web engineer, you might not need C/C++. Feel free to reach out to me if you have other questions :)
