If a 11 kg box sits on a 24 degree hill, and a 69 N force pulls uphill. Calculate the net force on the box.

if m = mass of box (11 kg), g = acceleration of gravity (9.8 meters/sec²), c = angle of inclination.

In the absence of friction or other forces, the net force on the box is

69 - mgsin(c) = 69 - (11)(9.8)sin(24) = 43.85 Newtons

This is just the net force and because it is positive, there is acceleration up the hill!
