I've never used Bibble before but here is an idea that might work for your issue.
Lightroom can export XMP files which contain metadata and adjustments made to the photos.
However, the compatibility of XMP files between Lightroom 3 and Bibble 5 might be limited due to differences in how each software application interprets and applies adjustments.
Here's how you can attempt to migrate using XMP files:
- Export XMP Files from Lightroom: In Lightroom, select the photos you want to migrate and choose "Metadata" > "Save Metadata to Files" from the menu. This will save XMP files alongside your original NEF files, containing the adjustments made in Lightroom.
- Import XMP Files into Bibble 5: In Bibble 5, there should be an option to import XMP files or to read metadata from the files. You can try using this feature to import the adjustments saved in the XMP files.
- Verify Edits in Bibble 5: After importing the XMP files, verify that the adjustments from Lightroom have been applied correctly in Bibble 5. You may need to make some manual adjustments to match the look you had in Lightroom.
- Organize Photos: As mentioned before, you can organize your photos in Bibble 5 using your existing folder structure.
- Backup Originals: Always keep backups of your original NEF files in case you need to reference them in the future.
While using XMP files may help retain some of the edits made in Lightroom, keep in mind that there might still be differences in how adjustments are interpreted between the two software applications. It's a good idea to test the migration process with a few photos first to ensure it meets your expectations before migrating your entire library.
