What are the advantages of converting from Easytrieve to COBOL?

While Easytreve (especially Easytreve Plus) is an excellent tool for performing data extracts, simple file processing and creation of basic reports, it doesn't lend itself well to complex applications, major database operations or creating sophisticated end-user worthy reports. Additionally, as EZT modules are typically executed interpreted instead of complied, there is a significant performance hit.
