Will deepfake ever replace animation?

No. The are many forms of animation.

For example, you can't "deep fake" a shot with an armada of space ships crossing frame or doing combat with each other. Someone has to set that up and create it.

That's an example where AI could help, but not replace it.

I believe it will.. I have said this for years. They will bring back old movie stars like Humphrey Bogart and Elvis . Ha.. With at the assistance of AI we are getting very close. If you saw the new blade runner that is already old tech. You will certainly not know the difference and it is coming very fast. The other issue to this is well won't have to pay any actors . And that will be a new issue. If you are young this will happen guaranteed. We are very very close. Computers have to be more powerful and animators need to change there thinking from cartoons to reality and study it. But its coming.. I think in 15 years or sooner we will see an entire film this way.
