The hourly rate of $25 is the slope of the line. The $20 gym use fee is a fixed cost and is the y-intercept of the line.
The equation of the line in slope-intercept form is as follows:
c=25h+20
To find the cost after a certain number of hours, you simply plug the hours into h and solve the equation for c. Therefore, after 0 hours you will have
c=25(0)+20=20; therefore, after 0 hours, you will simply pay the gym use fee which was a fixed cost
After 1 hour you will have
c=25(1)+20=45; therefore, after one hour you will pay 45 dollars. 20 will be the fixed cost and 25 will be the hourly fee.
