Why Taino Indians wouldn't cut their hair, or why they kept their hair long?

Please, I need any resources, websites, etc that claim why (preferably cultural/ spiritual/ religious reasons) the Taino Indians had long hair. I do not need just answers or any info as to why they cut their hair.  I need to be able to give sources as to why they wouldn't cut their hair, or why they kept their hair long.. Thanks in advance!
