Unprotect a Word Document?

Can't edit a specific document in Word 2007. How do I remove the password protection (unprotect) on a Word document if I don't know the password? (i.e. The protection provided by Tools > Unprotect Document)

Try converting it using an online converter or upload it to cloud storage (like Google Drive/Docs) and then re-download it. If it doesn't have much beyond basic text (images, tables, lots of formatting on text) you might be able to right-click on the file and choose "Open with" from the menu and try opening it with WordPad, Notepad, or a browser.
