For some reason I forgot what you did if the thousandths place was 5 or greater and if the hundredths was nine. Please explain :)

the second 9 is in the hundredths place and the 7 tells you to round up... (5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 tells you to round up)

6 is not the answer !!!

6.00 is the answer ( you must keep the 0s to indicate that the number was rounded to hundredths)

6.00

5.9970

5.99

which multiple is 5.9970 closest too ? 6.00, not  5.99

again, the answer is 6.00
