OK - I want to put this in terms that americans will understand. 1 cubic meter of basalt can produce 50 square meters of stonewool.

how can I say that in terms an average American will understand - and be able to visualize?  I can provide that exactly in feet... but I'd like to provide nice round numbers instead of fractions... can you help?

I am somewhat an average American and I understand. What is it that you want to do with the information?

As I explained, most Americans cannot visualize the amount of space that can fill a cubic meter.  For example, if I were to say....  a bushel of basalt can produce ....,   what im looking for is a way to relate it to what people are familiar with.  For example, one might reference a football field, or a square foot, or yard...more so than a cubic meter. Any suggestions?  I don't want to say "1.3080 cubic yards can produce...", as no one will be able to visualize that, or remember that. The statement only makes an impact if people can visualize it.
