Should you master CSS before learning Grid and Flexbox?

CSS Grid and Flexbox are both integral parts of CSS3. In my line of work, I use them almost every day. Once you've grasped the fundamentals of CSS (e.g. how to change text color, how to use absolute positioning, etc) I would take a look at these layouts as they're very useful to add to your design toolkit.
