In Word, click "File" in the ribbon at the top left.
Click "Options"
Click "Proofing"
Click "AutoCorrect Options..."
Click "AutoFormat As You Type" tab
Click the setting "Set left- and first- indent with tabs and backspaces"
Click "OK"
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have additional questions!

Just adding this comment in case anyone else has this problem in the future: If you're typing in a Table, pressing Tab won't Increase Indent, it will skip to the next box. So pressing Tab to Increase Indent only works when you're NOT typing within a Table. Otherwise, Brandon P's answer is spot on!08/21/21
